Sneak preview: The C64 Mega

Retro Games LTD, the company behind the recent retro computing hits The C64 Mini and The C64 Full Size, just announced that they are planning to launch The C64 Mega in August. It will be twice the size of a Commodore 64 - that is twice as long, twice as deep and twice as high. The larger size will allow for a much richer experience and increased connectivity, including eight joystick ports, dual cartridge ports, and a built-in 300 baud modem. The Commodore 64 320x200 pixel display will also be upscaled to an impressive 8K UHD resolution.

Retro Games CEO, Dr. Aria Lefty, explains: We launched The C64 Mini in 2018, and a lot of Commodore fans bought it and praised it. There were some complaints about it being just half the size of a real Commodore 64, and it having a non-functioning keyboard.

We learnt from this, and in 2019 we launched The C64 Full Size, with the same size as a Commodore 64, and of course a functioning keyboard. This has been a tremendous success saleswise, and our current estimates show that we will sell about three times as many units in the first year as we did with the Mini.

And now we're hard at work on The C64 Mega, a computer twice the size of The C64 Full Size. This means we can expect to sell nine times as many units as we did with the Mini. With an estimated retail price of £599, this will provide our company with the solid foundation we need for our upcoming project, the ZX 81 Mega.
